OLPC (One Laptop Per Child) で Python が使われている、と聞いて、OLPC のページを見に行った。
上部に色々な言語を選択できるようにリンクが並んでいるのだが、その中にフォントが足りずに表示できていない言語があった。
Telugu と、英語表記ではなる言語らしい。
ということで、フォントがインストールできないかなあ、と "gentoo telugu" で検索してみた。
とあるページが目に止まる。
The language is called Telugu or Tenugu. Formerly it was often called Gentoo by the Europeans. Gentoo is a corruption of the Portuguese gentio, a heathen, and was originally applied to all Hindus as opposed to the Moros or moors, i.e. the Muhammadans.
